Hey Upper East Siders, Gossip Girl here! Miss me? You know you did. They say, ‘silence is golden,’ but after Lonely Boy blew himself out of the water fifteen years ago by revealing his identity, everyone took cover, too afraid to take a bite of the forbidden apple. The good news is …” I love the taste of the forbidden fruit— especially when it’s ripe. Besides, don’t you deserve to know what’s going on in the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s elite? And let’s not forget their privileged offspring. So, hang onto your hats, things are about to get pretty hot, and just in case you’ve forgotten, paybacks can be a real bitch! Oh, go ahead and say it. You know you love me! XOXO

Chuck Bass stood next to Lily, his stepmother, in the opened doorway of his father’s office shaking his head in disgust, the anger seething inside him like a time bomb ready to explode. “What’s wrong with you?” he asked his father, Bart, after he and Lily had caught him in a tight embrace kissing Anne Archibald. “You have a beautiful wife and you’re making out with my best friend’s mother in Lily’s house?”

The flush of color working its way up Anne’s face was like watching an artist’s brush cover a large canvas.   Bart stood silent, almost stately, as a muscle in his jaw fluttered. Anne stood frozen in place, her hand covering her mouth from the embarrassment of being caught. “It was just the heat of the moment, Lily. I swear,” Anne reasoned, her body jerking around frantically in an effort to get out of the room. “I’m so sorry. I don’t know what’s come over me. I didn’t mean to hurt you.”

Lily shot her an angry look and moved aside to allow the woman to exit. “Get out of my house, Anne.” Struggling to remain calm, Lily told herself raising her voice only degraded her as a person and she wouldn’t give Bart that right— not now, not ever. Turning her attention back to him, she forced herself to speak in reserved but stern voice. “As for you Bart, I’ll have Frederick pack your bags immediately. I want you both out of here today. Am I making myself clear?” Bart remained stoic, never saying a word.
